Dr. Ronald James Pond graduated from EOSC in 1974. He is one of the first Native American students to receive a degree from Eastern’s Native American Program. He helped create the Speel-Ya Native American Student Council, which provides social and cultural support for new and returning students through a variety of activities, including the annual Spring Celebration Pow Wow and Friendship Feast. Ronald is a life-long advocate for Native American traditions and is actively involved in youth organizations. He is a faculty member at Washington State University.
