Steps  to an Online Degree

Step 1• EOU ADMISSION:

Admission to EOU is required for all degree seeking students. View admission requirements and apply by filling out an Online Admission Form. Printed forms are available at any of our Regional Centers or by contacting EOU’s Admissions Office. Request official transcripts from all institutions that you have attended since leaving high school and have them sent to the Admissions office.

Note – You can enroll in up to 8 credits per term without being admitted.

Step 2• ONLINE STUDENT DEGREE ORIENTATION:

Attend a free face-to-face Orientation session held at locations throughout Oregon (listed on each Regional Center’s web site) or view the Online Orientation.

Step 3 • COMPLETE A DEGREE PLANNING WORKSHOP:

All students seeking a baccalaureate degree online through EOU are required to enroll in a Degree Planning Workshop (DPW). The workshop covers institutional and program requirements in detail, provides comprehensive answers to students’ questions, and culminates in an initial individualized degree plan.

View information about the degrees we offer. You may also request information by calling  1-800-544-2195 or 541-962-3378.

The DPW is available via two formats.

  • Online one-credit workshop – SSCI 175 Degree Planning Workshop (1)  required for all out-of-state students and offered to regional students with permission of their advisors.  Cost is $50 tuition. The class spans 5 weeks and is offered every term.
  • Onsite non-credit workshop – offered by regional advisors by appointment at Oregon regional centers.

Contact your academic advisor or the Advising Center office to register.

Step 4• CONTACT YOUR ADVISOR AND REGISTER FOR CLASSES:

All online students will be assigned to an academic advisor who will guide you through your degree program all the way to graduation.   Contact your advisor to register for classes.  Contact the Advising office or Dee Toland for advisor or general registration information:  advising@eou.edu or dtoland@eou.edu.
