Such policies are subject to change, therefore, students should consult with Admissions staff about current standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qualifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">All transfer student applicants must submit the following to the Office of Admissions:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Completed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eou.edu\/admissions\/apply\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Application for Undergraduate Admission<\/a>&nbsp;and pay the non refundable $50.00 application fee or submit a completed <a title=\"Application for fee deferral\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eou.edu\/admissions\/files\/2019\/10\/Request-for-Deferral-of-Application-Fee-for-Admission.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fee deferral form<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Official transcripts from each college or university attended.<br><ul><br><li>Applicants must demonstrate a 2.25 GPA or better with a minimum of 30 transferable quarter credits (or 20 transferable semester credits) from accredited colleges or universities.<\/li><br><li>Transfer coursework must reflect successfully completing a minimum of two courses in the sciences, social sciences, or humanities.<\/li><br><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applicants with less than 72 quarter or 60 semester transferable college credit hours must also submit an official high school transcript if seeking federal financial aid.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Applicants with fewer than 30 transferable quarter credits must:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have a 2.25 GPA for all transferable credit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fulfill freshman admission procedures and requirements<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eou.edu\/admissions\/freshman\/\">(Freshman Admission Requirements)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a title=\"Post-Baccalaureate Students (Non-Graduate &amp; Additional Undergraduate Degree)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eou.edu\/admissions\/graduate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Post-Baccalaureate Students<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transfer&nbsp;Credits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&nbsp;Wondering how your courses transfer?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-white-color has-eastern-navy-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/slate.eou.edu\/register\/?id=4c83b9b2-d0ae-4708-9571-bf4c9c0b736f\" style=\"border-radius:0px\">Free Transfer Credit Review<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Use the tool above, select your previous institution, and see how transfer courses come into EOU.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Send transcripts attn: EOU admissions or email to <a href=\"mailto:admission@eou.edu\">admission@eou.edu<\/a><\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Students with the following Associate degrees from accredited Oregon, Idaho or Washington state community colleges will be considered as having met the general education distribution requirements at EOU:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Associate of Arts-Oregon Transfer Degree (AAOT)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Associate of Science-Oregon Transfer Degree (ASOT)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completion of an AA or AS from:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>North Idaho College<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>College of Southern Idaho<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>College of Western Idaho<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Central Texas College<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completion of a Direct Transfer Agreement (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #1155cc;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sbctc.edu\/colleges-staff\/programs-services\/transfer\/direct-transfer-agreement.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">DTA<\/span><\/a><\/span>) as transcribed by a regionally accredited Washington Community College<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completion of an Associate of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts from Palau Community College, College of the Marshall Islands and College of Micronesia.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A certificate of&nbsp;<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #1155cc;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.assist.org\/web-assist\/help.do?page=help\/csu_ge.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">CSUGE<\/span><\/a><\/span>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #1155cc;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.assist.org\/web-assist\/help\/help-igetc.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">IGETC<\/span><\/a><\/span>&nbsp;from California<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Individual Admissions Review<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students who believe they may not meet the&nbsp; admission requirements may petition the Admissions Committee by providing the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Personal Statement<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The personal statement is one of the most critical components of a successful petition for admission to EOU.&nbsp;&nbsp; It must be typed, spell-checked, edited for grammar. Ask a teacher, counselor or co-worker to proof read your statement before sending it. Make sure it is your best version! In 500-700 words answer the following questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Explain your personal circumstances<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Why have you chosen to apply to Eastern Oregon University<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What changes have you made to improve your academic record<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How do you plan to be academically successful at Eastern Oregon University<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Letters of Recommendation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A minimum of <strong>two<\/strong> Letters must be submitted and must be written from someone other than immediate family members such as a teacher, principal, employer, coach, etc. They should their relationship with you and the probability for academic success at Eastern Oregon University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Optional<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional evidence of academic and community achievements and service. Student may submit resumes, awards\/certificates, community service hours, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Admissions Committee will review each submitted portfolio and assess the probability of academic success and may prescribe coursework and remediation activities as conditions for enrollment. The Committee meets the third Friday of every month.&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Submission of Individual Review Portfolio does not guarantee admission.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Students from the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Republic of Palau, Republic of the Marshall Islands<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the above admissions requirements, students from the Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau and Republic of the Marshall Islands are required to demonstrate English language proficiency by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>English proficiency as demonstrated by achieving 500 on the TOEFL, or 61 on the Internet-based TOEFL; a score of 5 on the IELTS, and satisfactory completion of level 112 in an English Language School.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eou.edu\/admissions\/english-proficiency-policy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EOU English Proficiency Policy<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Foreign Transcript Evaluations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Transcripts from non-U.S. schools can be sent for an&nbsp;evaluation by a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.naces.org\/members.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">National Association of Credential Evaluation Services<\/a> (NACES) accredited agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We recommend using&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wes.org\/fees\/evaltypes.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">World Education Services (WES)<\/a> for these services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>High School transcripts require a document-by-document evaluation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>College transcripts require a course-by-course evaluation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All materials submitted to the Office of Admissions become the property of Eastern Oregon University and cannot be returned to the student or forwarded to another institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transcript Evaluation Decisions Upon Admission to EOU<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether&nbsp;you&nbsp;are a newly admitted freshman or transferring&nbsp;to&nbsp;EOU with prior college coursework, the Admissions and Registrar\u2019s Offices are committed&nbsp;to&nbsp;making every reasonable effort&nbsp;to&nbsp;ensure&nbsp;maximum credit is awarded toward degree completion based on your transcripts. It is important&nbsp;to&nbsp;realize that multiple factors can influence how your transcripts are evaluated, which include but may not be limited&nbsp;to&nbsp;\u2013 the accreditation status of the institution issuing the transcript, University policy regarding limits on credits applied toward degree, and faculty evaluation of transfer work. All transcript evaluation decisions are final and are not grievable. Students are encouraged&nbsp;to&nbsp;speak&nbsp;with their academic advisor regarding options that may help them obtain credit for coursework and other experiences not recognized during transcript evaluation. These options may include proficiency testing, Agency Sponsored Learning (ASL), and Assessment of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL).
