MINOR PROGRAM CHECK SHEET

Program Requirements:

Choose either Option #1 or Option #2 from below based off your proficiency level.

The Spanish Minor is a minimum 24-32 credit hour minor. A grade of “C-” or better is required for each course counting towards the minor, but a cumulative grade of C [2.00] is required for completion of the minor.

A minimum of 10 credit hours counting toward the minor must be completed at Eastern Oregon University.

Students traveling abroad on a recognized study abroad program should have their courses approved by a faculty member in the Spanish program before traveling to ensure that they will fulfill the requirements of the minor.

Electives must be selected from upper division courses in literature, culture, film or translation in which the majority of the course in conducted in Spanish and reading and writing assignments are in Spanish.

Prior to graduation, students must complete an Oral Proficiency Exam (given by arrangement), demonstration achievement or a rating of Intermediate-High on the ACTFL scale.

Total credits required for major: 24-32

If the requirements for the minor are not met at the time of graduation, the minor will not be awarded.
