Scoring Criterion for Presentations

100 Points

 

1. On Time. Is the report going on time?
5 points

 

2. Neatness. Are the materials typed and readable?
2 points

 

3. Purpose and Goals. Are the purpose and goals
statements in the cover sheet clear and consistent
with the presentation?
3 points

 

4. Questions. Are the questions posed properly?
Do the questions relate the goals of the presentation
in such a way that encourages Thinking?
10 points

 

5. Geographic Perspective. Were the five themes
used in the presentation? Did the presentation maintain
a spatial emphasis of the subject?
25 points

 

6. Credibility. Is there a sense that higher level
cognitive skills were used in developing the
presentation? Does the student extrapolate, suggest,
reason, in dealing with the subject? Is there substance
to the report?
15 points

 

7. Information. Is the data and research used
up to date?
15 points

 

8. Creativity. Are graphics (maps) used in the report?
Has the student used Hand-outs, overheads,
photographic images? Has the student incorporated some
hands-on activity for students in the presentation?
15 points

 

9. *Group organization. Did the group maintain balance
in all the presentations, no repeats but lots of reinforcement?

5 points

 

10. *Group theme and flow. Is there symmetry with the
presentations? Do the presentations cooperatively represent the
essence of the region reported on *Numbers 9 and 10 are based on group scores. If the group did well together everyone will receive the same number of these points. 5 points
