Youth Outdoor Day

Sponsored by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and Ducks Unlimited, the Eastside Youth Outdoor Day is held annually at the Ladd Marsh Wildlife Area.  The event, designed for ages 9 – 17, provides opportunities for youth to participate in a number of activities focusing on hunting and safety in the outdoors.

Numerous local organizations and agencies join together each year to provide a unique experience in which all participants will find something fun and educational. Activities may include beginning archery; boater safety; waterfowl identification and calling techniques; hunter ethics, laws and landowner relations; outdoor survival; hunting dog demonstrations and others. Youth who have successfully completed a hunter education course may participate in a shotgun clinic by presenting their hunter safety certificate.

To participate in the event, youth must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is recommended and space in the event is limited to 150 youth.  For specific information about dates and times for this event, contact Dave Larson (541-963-4954).
