Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012:
The few, the brave and the cold-hardy spent an enjoyable evening searching for owls on Ladd Marsh recently. Cathy Nowak, ODFW Wildlife biologist, led this trip as we visited "owly" locations, played recorded calls, and located three species of owls - Great horned owl, Barn owl and Western screech owl.




Winter Walk on Ladd Marsh

A group of FOLM members gathered for a winter walk on the marsh on Friday, Dec. 16. With views of a Bald Eagle, American Tree Sparrows, and three Virginia Rails and a pot of hot soup back at headquarters, no one went home hungry or unhappy.

Nov. 2011; Rehabilitated Bald Eagle release on Ladd Marsh was a BLAST!

Lynn Thompkins from Blue Mountain Wildlife brought a rehabbed juvenile Bald Eagle over to the marsh for release. "Friends" members were invited to attend this special event. The eagle wasted no time in taking off to explore the marsh.
