For Online and On-Site Students Only

The Writing Center provide two types of writing tutoring for online and on-site students:

eWriting Lab (eTutoring)

The eWriting Lab allows you to submit a draft of your paper to a tutor, ask for specific feedback, and receive your work back with a tutor’s response within 24-48 hours. The eWriting Lab is asynchronous, similar to EOU’s previous service through the OWL.

To log in and navigate to the eWriting Lab, follow login instructions at EOU’s eTutoring main page.

SOT-Writing

Synchronous Online Tutoring (SOT) can be scheduled online or or by arrangement:

Scheduling online

  1. Select a tutor who is available to tutor face-to-face or online on the current term’s writing tutor schedule (e.g., WritingSp13) at eou.mywconline.com.
  2. Log in to your account a few minutes before the appointment. If you have not yet done so, upload your draft using tools in the scheduler.
  3. Meet the tutor online at the scheduled time. Your tutor will guide you in using whiteboard and chat functions within the scheduler to dialogue about writing in the context of your draft.

SOT-Writing appointments can be scheduled as late as 11:59 p.m. the night before a desired online tutorial. This is a good option for those who need or want a quicker response than eTutoring can provide.

Arranged appointments

For online or on-site students who need a time not available on the schedule, and for those who need or would prefer to communicate on Skype or Google Hangouts, call or email the Director to make arrangements (see Contacts).
