Digital Drop Box Instructions The Digital Drop Box is a private posting between a single student and their instructor. Students may review each others postings in Discussion Board but not in Digital Drop Box. The Digital Drop Box works like an email with an attachment, i.e., your assignment. You compose your assignment using your word processing software, i.e., MS WORD (you are not in Blackboard at this point).Save the file but keep track of what directory you are saving to on your computer. THEN, go to BLACKBOARD, enter your course, click the TOOLS button bar and select DIGITAL DROP BOX Click ADD FILE (the button bar) #1- File Information Title: Enter the subject title as: Your name, Assignment Name Enter the week number at the top of your assignment NOTE: Save your document in RICH TEXT FORMAT (do this with all your attachments throughout the course so they can be read by all computers File: Use the browser button to find your assignment (this is why you need to keep track of what directory you saved it to) Comments: Fill in any additional comments you want to make to the instructor. Go to Section #2. #2 - Submit Click the submit button. Your Digital Drop Box page now displays your assignment (title only) #3 - Click the SEND FILE (button) This is what actually sends your file. This feature is like asking you "are you SURE you want to submit this?" If the answer is YES, then send it! Your Digital Drop Box page now displays your assignment (by title) along with the information of Submitted by (you) and Submitted on (date). To maintain a paper trail of your work, you can use your PRINT option (from your Internet options at the top of the screen). I don't recommend using the REMOVE file option. Keep your work posted until you have your grade! Once a file is deleted, it is GONE!
