Please join us for our first FYE "Curric-U-Link" Forum on Tuesday, October 2 in Hoke 301 At this forum we will begin with a discussion of the literature that supports this linking model. Abstracts of Literature Supporting the EOU FYE Linking Model (Full Articles on Pierce Library Electronic Reserve Under Core 102 First Year Experience) Core 101 Linking Retention Statistics Our Success in Core 101 encourages us to extend this success opportunity to other First Year Students. Key Features of the EOU FYE Linking Model Core 101 & Core 102 Plan for 2007-2008 Core 102 Partnership with Student Affairs Student Affairs and EOU Academic Faculty have worked closely for over a year to create a seminar that provides an extended orientation opportunity for students as well opportunities to practice critical thinking and research.. In the Core 102 seminar, students work with different student affairs staff and faculty to create an I-Search Paper. Research shows that if students research a major and make a plan early in their college studies, they are more likely to stay in school. See below link for a description of the I-Search Paper that students will compose in Core 102.
