Discussion Board Requirements: Each week, you are required to post one intial long post, and then to post two responses to others' posts, and one response to the lecture that I will post Friday of each week. In other words, each week you are required to post to DB at least four times. Discussion Board #1 Alison's essay on p. 22 is very typical of the essays we see in the Writing Lab produced by students in the 100 level writing courses. Having read Clark's Chapter 1 and completed Study Guide 1 (SG1), you are now aware of many theories that might help you work with Alison. If you were a tutor working with Alison, which approach/theory would you use and why? Writing Process theory , Reader-Writer Transaction theory, Social Constructionism, or Genre? In other words, each theory provides a different door into working with Alison. All doors will eventually lead to the same place, but the perspectives will be different. Which door would you choose, and why? Also, can you provide one question that you would ask Alison which would grow out of that theory? For this Discussion Board and all future Discussion Boards: For all future Discussion Boards also add: What surprises, insights, questions do you have this week based on our reading and activities?
