In Fall 2005 students who placed into WR 115 and WR 040 or who were provisionally admitted students were places in 2 linked courses, WR 115 Introduction to Expository Prose and HUM 207 Seminar in Critical Reading and Thinking. We repeated this linking in Fall 2006. Below are the preliminary findings which show that the retention rate for students enrolled in the linked courses were higher than those enrolled in another WR 115 course with different curriculum or linking to a seminar.
