Steps to Getting Started at EOU

STEP I:

Apply for Admission to Eastern Oregon University

A. EOU Admission Applications

B. Submit all official transcripts – including your Military Training Transcripts

 * if you are not seeking a degree from EOU
** Students who have previously been admitted to EOU

STEP 2:

Apply for Student Federal Aid

A. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. EOU Federal school code is 003193

B. Review the EOU Military Financial Aid options, including the EOU “Service to Country” scholarship application

STEP 3:

Apply for military education benefits

A. Review your options for the military education benefits based on your eligibility

B. Contact your local Veterans Service Officer (Oregon Residents or Outside of Oregon) regarding questions on which of your eligible military education benefits would be most beneficial to you.

C. Apply online for your GI Bill benefits at www.gibill.va.gov

C. Once it is clear which benefit you have chosen and are eligible to receive, contact the appropriate EOU representative (see contact information listed on this page):

Dorothy Jones – EOU Certifying Official, Chapter 33, 35, 30, 31, 1606 & 1607
Nanda VanHouten  – Military Tuition Assistance, Chapter’s 31 & 33

D. Verify your school attendance: If receiving benefits under Chapters 30, 1606 and 1607 do this on either the first or last day of each month during the current term.  Your benefits will not be paid if you do not verify. Verification can be done by phone at 1-877-823-2378 or online at http://www.gibill.va.gov/wave/
