La Grande, Oregon - Eastern Oregon University will hold a Remembrance Day Ceremony starting at 8:30 a.m. Thursday to reflect upon the Sept. 11, 2001 national tragedy.

Requiem music will begin on the Hoke Hall sound system at 8:42 a.m. loud enough to be heard across campus.

At approximately 8:47 a.m., the music will stop for 90 seconds of silence. People on campus will be invited to observe the silence from either inside or outside their offices. There will also be a gathering near the flagpole in the turnaround on University Blvd. The 90 seconds of silence will be ended by a bagpipe rendition of "Amazing Grace," followed by a recorded performance of "America the Beautiful."
