Forum on Measure 30 set for Jan. 28 Jan. 20, 2004 For more information, contact: La Grande, Oregon - An Eastern Oregon University Student Forum on Measure 30 will take place from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 28, in the Hoke Center's Mac's Grill. An invited panel will be on hand to give presentations on the Feb. 3 special election measure. A question and answer session will follow the presentations. The panel will include EOU President Dixie Lund, Blue Mountain Community College President Travis Kirkland, and La Grande School District Superintendent Jay Rowell. Union County Commissioner John Lamoreau will serve as the panel mediator. Measure 30 is a proposed $800 million temporary income tax increase. If voters reject the measure, $11 million will be cut from the Oregon University System's budget, including a $350,000 budget cut for EOU. For more information on the forum, contact the ASEOU
