La Grande, Oregon - Eastern Oregon University alumni and Mountaineer fans will be able to show their pride with a new set of license plates starting Aug. 1.

The Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles will release a special higher-education license plate with the Mountaineers' athletic logo on the left side. The plates will cost $32 in additional fees compared to a regular standard plate additional fee of $3, but the additional funds will return to EOU to support alumni and athletic programs.

The DMV has several plates for specialty groups and colleges throughout the state, including the University of Oregon, Oregon State University, Portland State University, George Fox College, Pacific University, and the University of Portland.
