La Grande, Oregon - Eastern Oregon University will host "Partnering for Success: A Diversity Forum" to be held Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004 from 7 - 9 p.m. in Hoke 309.

The goal of "Partnering for Success: A Diversity Forum" is a multi-faceted cooperative effort to identify obstacles that inhibit successful communication and exchange between EOU students of diverse backgrounds and community businesses, outline strategies for better relationships, and develop guidelines for implementation.

This forum is a collaborative effort by EOU student groups, students from the Inequality and Diversity class, and La Grande community and business leaders. The forum will include a panel of students, faculty, and city and business leaders who will share their insights about issues of Diversity and how those issues affect our local economies. La Grande city and business leaders have received invitations to attend and participate.

Ted Atkinson, an EOU assistant professor of business, will serve as moderator for the panel discussion.

The forum is free and open to the public and sponsored by the Affirmative Action Office and the Native American Multicultural Student Services. For more information please contact 541-962-3741.
