EOU to announce lead gift for Science Center campaign [EOU release]
Eastern Oregon University is slated to announce the largest private donation in the school's history at a special reception Thursday. The gift is in support of the the University's Science Center project, and comes from an anonymous donor who will be introduced at the event by President Phillip Creighton.
EOU plans holiday closure to save energy [EOU release]
As a state agency, Eastern Oregon University has been directed by the Governor to reduce energy consumption by 10 percent annually. To help accomplish that goal, the school has focused on those time periods when the campus experiences its lowest utilization by faculty, staff, students and the community — the holidays.
Alumnus David Huber provides largest gift in University Foundation's history
[EOU release]
Dr. David Huber, a 1974 graduate of Eastern Oregon University, announced Dec. 6 2001 that he would donate $600,000 to his alma mater — the largest gift to the Foundation. Huber, who graduated with a bachelor's degree in physics from EOU, will provide $500,000 to the new Science Center project and $100,000 earmarked for a physics and engineering scholarship endowment available through the Foundation.
EOU receives $500,000 grant from Meyer Memorial Trust for Science Center project [EOU release]
Eastern Oregon University's Science Center project received a special boost this week with the announcement of a $500,000 grant from the Meyer Memorial Trust. Moving forward in leaps and bounds, the Science Center project at EOU has received a double shot with today's Meyer Trust announcement and last week's gift of $600,000 from alumnus Dr. David Huber.
