March 7: EOU rallies for higher education [EOU release]

Over 100 Eastern Oregon University students, faculty, staff and alumni gathered on the Capitol steps in Salem, Tuesday to rally for support of higher education in Oregon, joining nearly 2,000 other Oregon University System supporters in chants that echoed a clear message: "Keep Oregon on Track, Don't Go Back."

 

March 17: Sen. Wyden visits EOU to learn about Science Center [EOU release]

U.S. Senator Ron Wyden (R-Ore.), visited with Eastern Oregon University faculty, students, and community supporters on Saturday, March 17 to learn more about the proposed Science Center and its impact on EOU and the region.

 

March 19: EOU Administrator takes helm on hospital board [The Observer]

Dennis Swanger has taken on two major responsibilities in the past year. Seated in his office Eastern Oregon University, who became interim dean of the School of Arts and Sciences last year, talked about his most recent challenge:† chairman of the board of Grande Ronde Hospital.

Combative sparks do not fly when Eastern Oregon University President Phil Creighton and the presidents of Blue Mountain and Treasure Valley community colleges get together.

 

March 31: Chamber Choir travels to Ecuador [EOU release]

The Eastern Oregon University Chamber Choir, conductor Peter Wordelman, associate professor of music at EOU, and five community members will be traveling to Ecuador, from March 21 to April 2, to showcase their choral music to singers and conductors in the South American nation.

 

March 31: Choir performs before full house at Quito theater [EOU release]

What an experience this has been. Our Eastern Oregon University Chamber choir has only been in Ecuador a short time but we're already learned so much about this country and its people.

 

March 31: EOU group makes Spanish pilgrimage [EOU release]

Wild dogs, rain, heat, cramped legs, blistered feet and little or no comforts from home will not stop the quest of 18 Eastern Oregon University students, two faculty members and Dr. Elizabeth Boretz, associate professor of Spanish.
