La Grande, Oregon — The Observer’s 14th Annual Holiday Music Festival will feature more than 200 local performers. The two-day celebration begins on Saturday Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m. and continues through Sunday, Dec. 4 with an afternoon performance at 3 p.m. Both performances will be held in McKenzie Theatre on the campus of Eastern Oregon University.
The “gala” type event will feature the Grande Ronde Symphony Orchestra, the EOU Chamber Choir, the Grande Ronde Community Chorus, an EOU Faculty Jazz combo, the EOU Women’s Choir. The EOU Drumming Group and the EOU Fiddle Ensemble will also make special appearances.
Traditional holiday music from around the world and a visit from Santa Claus are sure to please audiences of all ages. Proceeds from the event will go to the EOU Foundation Music Scholarship fund. In addition, the EOU Community School for the Arts will hold a silent auction in the Loso Hall lobby during the festival weekend.
General admission will be $8 for adults and $6 for EOU students and seniors. Tickets will be available for purchase at Sunflower Books and at the EOU Bookstore. Advance ticket purchase is highly recommended.
