LA GRANDE, Oregon – The Observer’s 15 annual Holiday Music Festival at Eastern Oregon University will be held Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 pm. and Sunday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. in McKenzie Theatre.
The gala event will feature the talent of more than 200 area residents performing traditional holiday music from around the world. Groups performing will include the Grande Ronde Symphony Orchestra, the EOU Chamber Choir, the Grande Ronde Community Chorus and the EOU Women’s Choir.
Other special performances include the EOU Drumming Ensemble, the English Country Dancers accompanied by the EOU Fiddle Ensemble and a duet presented by music professors Matt Cooper on piano and Teun Fetz on vibraphone. Santa Claus is also expected to make an appearance.
General festival seating tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students and seniors. Advanced ticket purchase is highly recommended.
All proceeds will go to the EOU Foundation and will assist the music department with the purchase of new instruments. The EOU Chamber Choir will also hold a silent auction in the lobby of Loso Hall during the event to help raise money for the group’s upcoming trip to China in March 2007.
