EOU GOLD Program, Union VFW to participate in Veterans' Day Ceremony

LA GRANDE, Oregon – A Veterans’ Day ceremony will be held at Eastern Oregon University on Friday, Nov. 10. The program begins at 10 a.m. by the rose garden on University Boulevard. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Captain Dominic Kotz, director of the GOLD Program at EOU, will deliver the keynote address and James C. Lundy, retired EOU vice president for business, finance and facilities, will give the invocation.

“This will be a really nice ceremony in honor of all our veterans and is something very close to my heart,” Captain Kotz said.

Military science students in the GOLD Program will be present for firing detail. Story Miller, music student at EOU, will perform Taps and the National Anthem, and members of the High Valley VFW Post 4060 in Union will post colors.

Track vehicles including an M1A1 Abrams tank will be on display along with a Bradley fighting vehicle and a red, white and blue military humvee.
