La Grande, Oregon – The play “Orphans,” directed by John Hobson, is the season opener for the Theatre Department at Eastern Oregon University. The show will run Oct. 19-22 in Schwarz Theatre at 8 p.m.
"Orphans” is a comedy written by Lyle Kessler. It is the story of an older brother who supports his mildly retarded younger brother by committing petty thievery. His next victim is a rich man who ends up turning the tables on the two boys, becoming a father figure to them in the process. Daniel Petznick, Christopher Hooper and Alexander Mitzimberg make up the cast. Viewer discretion is advised.
