8th annual Rita S. Monahan Scholarship Walk-a-Thon

LA GRANDE, Oregon — Help future nurses by participating in the eighth-annual Rita S. Monahan Scholarship Walk-a-Thon on October 7 at 2:30 p.m. on the EOU campus track. Anyone interested in participating is welcome.

 

The event raises money to help students in the Oregon Health and Science University School of Nursing at EOU pay for expensive board exams. By finding sponsors, participants raise money for every lap they walk.  A limit of seven miles has been set so that sponsors know the outside limit of their donation, but donations of any amount are gladly accepted. Pledge forms can be picked up at the EOU Bookstore, Sunflower Books, or the OHSU School of Nursing office.

 

All the money raised will go to the Rita S. Monahan fund, established by her husband Dr. Greg Monahan, in the EOU Foundation. The fund is dedicated to helping selected nursing students who need financial aid pay for their state board exams.
