EOU Foundation accepting cash donations to aid relief efforts

The Eastern Oregon University Foundation is accepting donations to help with the relief efforts for survivors of Hurricane Katrina.

"The EOU Foundation is proud to offer a safe and secure way for people to help the survivors of this terrible disaster," said Lyle Schwarz, President of the EOU Foundation.

The Foundation has created a designated account to accept cash donations.  All donations will be transferred to the Red Cross which will use the funds to help the survivors of hurricane Katrina. The EOU Foundation will charge no fees for administration so that one-hundred percent of donated funds will go directly to support the people severely affected by the disaster.

"Sometimes it's difficult to know how to help or where to safely donate funds during this kind of catastrophe," said Schwarz. "We hope this service makes it as convenient as possible for many people to donate and lend a helping hand during this time of need."

Donations are tax deductible and checks must be made payable to the EOU Foundation- Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund. Checks can be mailed or delivered to the Eastern Oregon University Foundation, One University Boulevard, La Grande, Ore., 97850.
