EOU hires new director of Computing and Telecommunications

La Grande, Oregon – Eastern Oregon University has hired Paul Rowan as director of Computing and Telecommunications Services on campus. Rowan brings 18 years of experience in information technology and higher education to EOU.
He has more than 10 years of experience in engineering and management working in Silicon Valley, Ca. Rowan said he is looking forward to “getting to know and working with the great staff of the Computing and Telecommunications Services Department” when he begins his job as director on August 1.
Rowan is a graduate of Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, Ca., Biola University in La Mirada, Ca., and Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. He holds degrees in electronics engineering technology, business administration, and information and communications sciences.
“My wife is looking forward to living in a small community,” Rowan said of their move to La Grande.
Rowan is currently finishing up consulting work for a commercial heating, ventilating and air conditioning digital controls business in Colorado, where he and his wife have lived for the past eight years.
