EOU Chamber Choir to deliver graduation concert

LA GRANDE – The Eastern Oregon University Chamber Choir will present its annual Graduation Concert on the eve before Commencement, Friday, June 16 at 7:30 p.m. in McKenzie Theatre. Commencement will be held on Saturday, June 17 at 10 a.m. in Community Stadium.

The Chamber Choir will present musical selections they have performed throughout the year, including pieces from the “Night on Broadway” concert, “Gospel Brunch,” and their fall and spring tours. The concert will also feature a new arrangement by J. Michael Frasier of “Lonesome Road,” recorded by James Taylor.

Percussionist CW Dunbar will perform a multi-percussion piece, in addition to closing the performance with a drum set solo.

“This concert is a celebration of what the students have been able to accomplish throughout the year and during their education at EOU,” said Peter Wordelman, EOU Chamber Choir director and professor of music.

Admission to the concert is free, but donations will be accepted at the door with all proceeds benefiting the EOU Chamber Choir’s upcoming trip to China in March 2007.
