Members of the classified staff at Eastern Oregon University were recognized during the annual employee program on Wednesday, May 4, at the Hoke Union Building.
Individuals were lauded for their student service, customer service, teamwork, length of employment, and distinguished job performance. EOU President Khosrow Fatemi and Tim Seydel, assistant vice president for university advancement, addressed the group via a live satellite link from Salem.
Tonya Evans, with the academic affairs office, received the Customer Service Award. Joyce Ross in the registrar’s office was given the Student Service Award. The Distinguished Employee Award went to Sharon Nelson, administrative program assistant with the Division of Distance Education. The Banner Recruitment Module Team, comprised of Jody Potter, Beth Eaton, Shea Hawes and Kim Sanders, received the Team Award.
New employees were formally introduced, along with those who are retiring this year. Aramark food services catered the event, and EOU students provided musical entertainment. Sally Click, assistant vice president for student affairs, gave the closing remarks.
