I was born Cedar City, Utah in 1986 of goodly parents, Kenn and Denise Wheeler. My first performance experience was in the musical, Carousel. I played a two-year-old girl who shook her finger, reprimanding the lead character, Billy Bigelow. And from that very first moment, I loved being on the stage. I did many little parts after that, but the next opportunity I had to take a major role on stage was when my family and I moved in 1996 to Ontario, Oregon and my father began teaching at Treasure Valley Community College. I played "Piglet" in Winnie the Pooh, which we toured to the elementary schools in the area. Once again the "acting bug" bit me. Over the next few years, I played various parts in Peter Pan, Annie, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, Into the Woods, A Funny Thing Happen on the Way to the Forum, Music Man, Hello Dolly, Newsies, and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Then during my senior year of high school, (I had moved to La Grande during this time), I played "Queen Agravain" in Once Upon a Mattress. I absolutely loved the experience. During my Freshman year, I participated in nearly evey production in various roles on stage. I'm currently a History major and a Theatre minor. In December of 2005, I married Patxi Waite and although my name changed my initials didn't. I wish, through my education, to one day be able to teach high school students and share my love for theatre and history. I hope also to be able to perform professionally with my family in our own theatre company. |
