Amy Yoder

Pedagogy

Amy was born in Oregon, July 30th 1990. As a shy child, she was the least likely to talk in a group of people. Her mother even referred to her as her “velcro child” --- because she clung to her thigh quietly. Amy’s first experience with theatre changed all of that. She was only five when her mom took her to see a production of “Once Upon a Mattress”. Since that performance Amy has made it her goal to be onstage, whether through dancing, acting or singing. Over the course of her life Amy has managed to escape her “velcro/shy” ways and now considers herself an extrovert who enjoys expressing herself through theatre and dance. Amy most recent theatre experience includes, Ann Deever in All My Sons, Silly Girl in Beauty and the Beast, Meg Giry in The Phantom of the Opera, and Cecily Cardew in The Importance of Being Earnest. She has also designed make-up and hair for Much Ado About Nothing, in addition to this, Amy assistant stage managed Three Penny Opera in Binghamton, New York. Amy plans to complete her major in Theatre Pedagogy and minor in History this spring and will be attending Biola University in Southern California, fall 2011. She plans to receive a second degree in Communications along with a minor in Biblical Studies. Amy loves all things theatre, beyond that her basic interests include staying busy with work, eating ice cream, playing with her adorable cat Morgan, running and ballet. She hopes to spend a great deal of her future traveling and exploring.
