Allan Sanada Lighting Design
II was born and raised in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. Growing up I did not have a clue of what I wanted to be but I remember seeing the play Little Shop of Horrors in high school, and I liked how well it was produced. The lighting and scenic designs were amazing. That was my first exposure to theatre. After high school. I came to EOU and took my first theatre class during my sophomore year. It was then that I discovered how fun theatre could be. After taking classes in theatre, I found that lighting and scenic design were areas that really sparked my interest. Since then I have been involved with many different productions. I served as the the Lighting Designer for The Odd Couple and The Children's Hour for the 2009-2010 production season. The 2010-2011 production season I have been the Lighting Designer for the musical, Assassins directed by Ken Bush and student directed plays of Closer, All My Sons and two EOU student written plays. I also became a member of USITT while attending 2011 Conference in Charlotte NC. In spring 2011 i have graduated with my theatre degree in which I plan to attend grad school to get a MFA and volunteer with theaters in the areas of Lighting and Technology. I would like to Thank the EOU theatre faculty for my wonderful experience and teaching me the world of theatre and also my advisor/mentor Mike Heather. I would like to also thank my fellow peers who allowed my me to be part of their production as the Lighting Designer. I hope one day to return as a Alumni Participant. |
