Welcome to Theatre at Eastern Oregon University

Alan Arnson Performance I was Born in La Grande, Or. A graduate of La Grande High School, I was very active in the music and theater departments there. I have been active in theater at Eastern starting early in 1991, with the Summer Youth Theater Program. I came to Eastern in the fall of 2001. Though claimed as a theater major, I was not active in the department until 2002, beginning with the EOU Comedy Club. This was an experience that I enjoyed thoroughly, as I developed my physical comedy and comic timing. Then in 2003, I took on my first leading role of Eugene M. Jerome, in Neil Simon's Brighton Beach Memoirs. Next came the unthinkable task of providing sound effects for Reed McColm's Hole In The Sky, in which I was asked to recreate the sounds of the horrifying events at the WORLD TRADE CENTER on September 11, 2001. This was a task that tested my ability as a Sound Designer. I tried to portray my sound effects as heard from inside the building, giving a more enclosed feel to the listener. I am proud to have been given the opportunity to work on such an amazing show. I also produced sound effects for Taming of the Shrew, and Fuddy Meers. I am also a member of the Oregon Army National Guard. |
