Minutes from the December 7, 2006 meeting were approved as submitted.

The Testing Lab proposal was discussed.  Janet Hume-Schwarz outlined key points of the proposal emphasizing that the need for an appropriate location for the lab led the committee to investigate the possibility of using 204A.  Committee members agreed that there is a definite need for this type of facility.   Linda voiced concern over the lab causing additional support issues for the IT department.  However, Paul stated that the IT staff agreed that the need for this type of facility outweighed the problem of additional workload.  Janet stressed that the College of Business would pay for lab aids and would also provide for scheduling the use of the lab.  Frederick spoke in favor of the proposal, but suggested that the actual cost to build the lab would likely be more than the $36,300 requested.

John Miller reminded the committee that he had not had time to properly evaluate the proposal, but he is in favor of the concept.  He asked that the committee discuss the changes in the proposal (i.e. using ZH 204A as a site for the lab) with Dean Jaeger.  He also asked the committee to find out how often ZH 204A is currently used and what it is used for.  John was also interested in how the room would be configured and who would prioritize its use.

Janet and Paul will talk with Dean Jaeger and Janet will get information regarding the use of ZH 204A.  They will report back to the committee chairs and John Miller who will then decide on the next course of action.

The next meeting is scheduled for January 25, 2007.
