Make sure you're familiar with the web page--there's lots of information here, and we'll use most of it. Also, readings not in the texts or online will be available in Blackboard.

Most of the time, for time-sensitive announcements, I'll use the email function in Blackboard. This will be more for informational stuff, interesting events on campus, etc.
