4. As a result of participating in a hearing and, if found accountable, providing monetary compensation for damages incurred because of their actions, students will understand the consequences of their actions and purpose of institutional policies. The student will also understand the effect of their behaviors on others. In addition, the students will learn to recognize their personal strengths and weaknesses. (Dunne-Cascio, 2006)
5. Assessment of this goal will be through observing the students' presentation and engagement at the hearing, and if found culpable, the completion of assigned sanctions. In addition, avoidance of similar behavior in the future will be taken as a sign of positive learning, personal growth, and behavior change.
