Mission 

The EOU Office of Admissions is committed to the recruitment of qualified, motivated, prepared and diverse students while providing a supportive environment for entrance into the University community by creating a strong, positive identity through innovative recruitment activities, and acting as the liaison between prospective students and University programs.

 

Strategic Priorities

The Office of Admissions seeks to improve its approach, effectiveness and reputation through:

 

• Identification and implementation of an electronic method of importing web application data.

• Tracking and tabulation of reasons that EOU student applicants cited for not matriculating into EOU.

• Partnerships with external scholarship-granting organizations to improve the number of scholarship/fee remission available to new students.

• Revision and redesign of recruitment campaign/website with a greater focus on transfer students, students of color, out-of-state and student athletes.

• Partner with Student Affairs to develop a marketing campaign and program that speaks to parents.

• Collaborative relationships with the following departments: Athletics, Diversity, Distance Education, Financial Aid, University Advancement and College of Arts & Sciences academic programs (Art, Music, Science and Theater).

• An early award campaign partnership with Financial Aid..

• Shift dependency on printed materials to internet/electronic products.
