"Promoting Future Native Leaders"

Eastern Oregon University is committed to fostering student success through recognition and respect of each student's cultural, social and intellectual background. The primary goals of the program are to recruit, retain, and graduate underreprented students from Eastern Oregon University. Program staff assists students in areas of academic advising, information on admissions and financial aid, and peer counseling and guidance.

Leadership Opportunities
As an Eastern Oregon University student you are invited to get involved in a number of leadership opportunities. Two such opportunities are the Native American Adolescent Mentorship Program (NAAMP) and the Native American Teacher Preparation Program (NATEP). NAAMP matches University students with Native American middle school students. The primary goals of NAAMP are to build friendships, increase self-esteem, encourage high academic achievement and pursue higher education. The NATEP supports students who wish to become teachers and return or locate to communities with high enrollments of Native American students.

Financial Aid
Remember, to be eligible for scholarship and financial aid programs you must apply! Students who are members of Federally Recognized Tribes may be eligible for funding through their respective corporations or tribal agencies.
