Mission Statement
Consistent
with both the University
Mission and the philosophy and Mission of
Student Affairs, student matters involving sexual assault shall be student
centered and educationally driven for all students involved. Matters will
also be handled in ways that support the Union County Sexual Assault Response
Team (UC-SART).
II.
Goals
- Provide
support for victims regardless of where they are in their recovery and/or
reporting process through the use of trained campus advocates (Counseling
Services, Student Health Center, Residence Life, Women's Center and
Student Affairs office)
- Use
the situation to aid in the development of all students involved; create
"teachable moments" to effect positive and lasting change
- Require
students to take responsibility for their actions through campus disciplinary
actions Provide
educational programs that effect campus culture, thereby pursuing
a safe and healthy environment for students to achieve their academic
goals
- Communicate
protocols to campus community to increase safety and accessibility for
students who want/need to access the system
- Advocates
and student affairs departments will provide confidential sexual assault
incident and statistical reports to Student Affairs Office
- Refer to SART for legal and necessary
medical care

The
following offices have a copy of the In-House Sexual Assault Decision Trees
that identify the protocol to be followed when a victim presents at Eastern
Oregon University. Protocols are prepared for:
