RESULTS OF THE "LET THERE BE LIGHT" TOUR
10/29/02
The south end of the stadium parking lot is dark.
The area right around the white house on Sixth Street is dark.
Sixth Street needs more lighting all along the west side of campus. Possible solutions between "I" and University Blvd include floodlights on the west wall of Loso Hall or a streetlight on the transformer on the corner of "J" and Sixth Streets.
Light needed on SW corner of Loso Hall driveway (north side of Loso Hall)
Light needed at Loso Hall entrance at the south side of the theater.
Badgley Hall Parking lot could use more lighting, but that will probably be taken care of as part of the construction process.
Eighth Street hill is dark. Especially noted several tripping hazards.
Generator behind Inlow Hall provides a good hiding place. Needs lighting on the north side and a barricade to prevent someone from hiding inside the walls.
Landings on the Inlow Hall grand staircase (especially the last landing as you go down) are very dark, and footing is poor due to deterioration of the concrete. Shrubs that grow right at the base of the staircase could be trimmed to allow more light to shine on the landing.
Dark hiding spot behind the dumpster at the northeast corner of Inlow Hall.
Additional lighting needed in the lower Hunt parking lot.
A light needed at the northwest corner of the Physical Plant parking lot.
Trees and shrubs need additional trimming along the sidewalk behind Hunt, down toward the Physical Plant. Trees also need additional trimming along the road that runs between the Physical Plant (west side) and the Athletic fields.
The northeast corner of Alikut Hall is dark.
The south entrance to Zabel Hall needs additional lighting.
The area in and around Gronek Amphitheater could use new lights and the
shrubs in that area need to be trimmed
