Old Safety Grams

- Bob Gilmore reported on the holes in the walls in Loso Hall - cords have been removed he will send a Service Request to plant to have the holes repaired at a later date.  Holes were drilled by students to accomodate extension cords that act as a back-up power supply when an electrical circuit blows.  Bob will work with Facilities and Planning to find a solution to the circuit problem.

-Brian Avila attended this meeting to discuss ideas about the Volleyball Court.  Brian suggested that the four unpadded poles are as much of a problem as the concrete border and should be addressed at the same time as the border.  He researched several different kinds of products that are usually used in playground equipment.  One example is rubber backed polyurethane pads (currently used on the Ackerman gym floor).  There are also rubber tiles that can be cut to fit and glued to the border.    Several other ideas were presented.  All were outdoor products and most could be glued to the concrete.  The cost would range from  $3.00 to $7.00/linear foot.  Brian also suggested the outside be backfilled with sod and the court be refilled with sand.  He will report back to the committee at the May 2006 meeting with product samples, sizes and prices for the committee to evaluate.  He will also check into available warranties.

AED - Still in process.  On Wednesday, April 12 at 10:00am, a sales representative will be at Rob's office to demonstrate an AED.   Committee members are welcome to attend.  Stana is still pursuing grants and/or donations to pay for the AED's.

Pandemic planning has slowed down a bit, but is continuing.  Tempe Bartell and Rob will meet later this week.  Tempe is very interested joining in the planning process.  Rob presented the status of our plan at the last OUS risk coordinator meeting and EOU is on track with the rest of OUS in the planning process.

The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 8, 1:00pm, in the Ackerman Alumni Room
