The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m.  

 

Approval of March Minutes:   Motion to approve and seconded; passed

1.      Employee got metal shavings in his eye.

2.      An employee twisted her ankle while walking on uneven sidewalk.

1.      An employee walked through the construction area in Inlow Hall (old        theater) and stepped on a nail.

 

Safety Grams – No new safety grams received.

 

Pending Safety Grams – Volleyball court issue still unresolved.

 

Other Business

• For the May meeting, the committee will meet in Loso Hall (Room 154) and conduct a building inspection.   Helen will make sure to notify Bob Gilmore.
• The Safety Training Video will be soon at the June meeting.
• Helen to invite Jerry Marshall or Tony Calhoun to discuss hazmat and fire information.
• Building inspections by Campus Security have been completed.   The results are:

       1.      Badgley Hall – A set of doors open in the opposite direction across traffic flow.   Abel will contact Rosa for more details.

       2.      Pierce Library – Power strips on the floor and not attached to the wall.   Jeff will talk with building manager.   Also the east stairs leading down to the basement are very dark.   A service request will be sent to Bud to check the light with his meter and determine a course of action after that has been completed.

       3.      Hoke Union Building – There is an exit light burnt out in the north stairs.   Jeff will do a service request.

 

Next meeting will be Monday, May 9 th .
