Annette Johnson
                  Annette Johnson

ROI Director Annette Johnson has more than 18 years of experience working in high tech manufacturing and has provided technical assistance to rural communities through EOU and the University of Alaska for nearly 20 years. She has an extensive knowledge of natural resource-based economies gained during the time she has spent living and working in Alaska as well as Oregon. Johnson has also facilitated economic development projects for faith-based groups leveraging federal funds. Johnson completed her master’s of business administration at the University of Portland in 1987. She has completed the American Economic Development Council’s three-year Economic Development Institute certificate program.

 

Johnson was president of UEDA from 2000-02, and has been a member of UEDA and the Education Association for University Centers since 1989. She has served on several community and economic development committees, including the Oregon Governor’s Task Force on Technology Transfer, the Catholic Campaign for Human Development and several economic recovery teams in Alaska. Her work has garnered numerous national awards, including two from the University Economic Development Association for “Outstanding Project of the Year – Partnering” and “Outstanding Project of the Year – Business Assistance.” The U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration, Seattle Region, also has recognized Johnson’s efforts, presenting her with an award for “Outstanding Service in the Field of Local Economic Development.”
