Community at Eastern Oregon University

Community is at the very foundation of the higher education experience. At Eastern Oregon we realize that growth and learning do not occur in a vacuum, but within the rich environment of diverse community. Here community exists in a variety of forms from the classroom to the residence halls. Students come to EOU from all walks of life and all corners of the world, making our community a place where all are wecome and all are valued. To that end, Residence Life demands that each member of its residential community be extended respect, dignity and accountability. In Residence Life at Eastern Oregon, our desire to build community is connected to our desire to see you succeed.

Through partnerships with the faculty, athletic coaches, and other student administrators, we work to bring the residential experience to a point of excellence that is unparalleled. Through these partnerships our students enjoy a rich array of programs, speakers, activities and opportunities to engage their own educational jouney in ways that promote personal success and achievement of goals.

The size of our campus allows us to include personal relationships as a high priority in our residential program. We aim for a ratio of one Resident Assistant to every twenty residents in our community: providing the support and accountability that promotes the highest level of growth and development. In a residential community at EOU, you are a face with a story that matters and not a face in the crowd with number.
