What is an EOU powwow?

Powwow time is Indian people getting together to join in dancing, singing, visiting, renewing old friendships and making new ones. This is a time to renew thoughts of the old ways and to preserve a rich heritage.

Eastern Oregon University powwows are a time to give thanks to friends and family for their help and guidance; as well as honor our graduates and recognize our alumni. It has also become a tradition that we honor our mothers, grandmothers, sisters, daughters and anyone else who has taken part in raising us.
