Mission of the Department of Physical Activity & Health
We educate, engage, and exemplify good practice in physical activity and health
The department of physical activity and health provides high-quality learning experiences in health, sport, recreation, teacher education, coaching, exercise science, and more. Our highly qualified instructors emphasize scientifically-based approaches to content in the courses being taught. Furthermore, community engagement and experiential learning are integrated directly into the curriculum. We support EOU’s broader mission, values, and core themes and educational principles with special emphasis on educating the “the whole person” and promoting physical activity, fitness, and wellness across campus, regionally, and beyond.
Our primary degree offering is a bachelor’s degree in Physical Activity and Health with three concentration options. We provide select master’s level classes and three minors.
