Oregon Writing Project at Eastern 2006 Invitational Summer Writing Institute (6 graduate credits) |

- Three locations: Bend, La Grande, and Ontario
- For kindergarten to college teachers in all content areas
- Focus on teacher as writer and on best practices for integrating reading and writing into all classrooms to support student success
- La Grande institute includes expenses-paid writers' retreat in Joseph
- $1000 stipend toward tuition
Application
procedure:
- Letter
describing your experience and strengths as a teacher of writing or
someone who employs writing to teaching a content area.
- Current
resume.
- Letter
of recommendation and support from your principal or other district
official indicating administrative support for your efforts to develop
a writing program in your classroom and committing to two days of
release time for you each year for writing project follow-up meetings,
in addition to any other release time provided by the teacher's
contract. (Sample letter available.)
Selected
participants will be acknowledged with a letter of confirmation, the
date for a
required orientation meeting, a contract, maps, and additional
information.
