$50 First-Place Prize in Each Age Group: Elementary/Middle School High School Adult Prized provided by ArtsEast

Additional awards: second and third place and honorable mention in each category

Winners will be notified by letter in August 2008, and the list of winners will be posted on the Blue Mountain Writers web site: www.eou.edu/owp/bmw.html. Poets may be invited to read at the August 23 Open Mic during the Crossing the Blues La Grande Summer Festival.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Resident of Union County, OR

Not eligible:

• Judges and their families
• Translations

Please submit in ONE envelope:

• 3 x 5” card: name, address, phone, email, age group, and title(s)
• THREE copies each of 1-4 previously unpublished poems WITHOUT NAME, typed, 12-point font, one side of the page

 Manuscripts will not be returned. Please keep copies.

Teachers interested in submitting class sets should contact Nancy Knowles for assistance.

Submission indicates permission to use poems in any Crossing the Blues: La Grande Summer Festival 2008 commemorative publication and in Blue Mountain Writers publicity.
