Writing across the Range in the Oregon Outback
A Week-Long Writing Institute in Crane
For K-16 Teachers in All Disciplines
June 19 - 23, 2006
9 AM - 3 PM plus evening excursions
K-16 teachers are invited to spend a week in vast, scenic Harney County to write and discuss the teaching of writing across disciplines.
Highlights:
- Spend time writing in Crane's frontier landscape
- Participate in demonstrations of best practices that inspire students to write
- Receive and discuss lesson plans for integrating writing-to-learn across disciplines and grade levels and for improving writing scores
- Explore the reading-writing connection
- Visit local sites
- Camp near or stay in Crane Union High School dorms at no charge
