       This position is intended for a student interested in a career in agribusiness or in food marketing. The job will entail a minimum of 200 hours over the course of the summer and hours could be expanded. The Food Innovation Center (FIC) provides technical assistance and research to assist firms with marketing, food business strategy, packaging, consumer-testing, and regulatory needs.   • RESEARCH ECOLOGIST (Postdoctoral Research Associate)
    The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Jornada Experimental Range Unit, Las Cruces, New Mexico is looking for a temporary, full time Research Ecologist (Postdoctoral Research Associate) to join a multi disciplinary team of researchers. The team consists of researchers from the USDA Jornada Basin Long Term Ecological Research Program from New Mexico State University, Brown University, University of California at Los Angeles, Arizona State University, and the University of Arizona. The project involves using multi scale experiments and simulation modeling to understand and predict grassland shrubland dynamics under changes in climate. The position is available immediately. Funding is available for two years; salary is commensurate with experience ($57408 $89450 per annum) plus federal benefits. Citizenship restrictions apply.
    Recent Ph.D. in ecology or related field is required. Applicants with strong quantitative skills and experience in combining field experiments with simulation modeling analyses are preferred. Evidence of effective oral and written communication skills is required.

    The Department of Wildland Resources at Utah State University is offering a post doctoral fellowship in ecology and/or natural resource management.       I am seeking three ornithological field technicians to investigate avian community responses to tree death resulting from pine beetle outbreaks in the Rocky Mountains of southern Wyoming. Applicants should have strong skills in identifying western North American birds from sound, be physically fit, and able to work and live in a remote, high-elevation area under difficult conditions. The nearest community to the field site is Encampment, Wyoming. Applicants should be available beginning 15 May to 1 June, and should be able to work through July and possibly August.
