Crop and Soil Science:
     Crop Management Option

There are many opportunities available to graduates majoring in Crop and Soil Science. CSS majors are qualified not only to managing a family or corporate farm, but also for numerous jobs in the private sector. Private firms, such as chemical companies, fertilizer dealers, and private consultants hire CSS graduates.
A Crop and Soil Science major will give you the foundation for understanding the complexity of field-based problems associated with the production of food and fiber.

Curriculum:   Undergraduate advising is a key element of the Crop and Soil Science Program, and the Agriculture Program takes pride in the careful support it gives its students as they develop and complete their program objectives. Strong consideration is given to offer students appropriate co-curricular activities, exposure to career opportunities, and job placement.
Both crop and soil science are built on a strong foundation of physical and biological sciences, and curricular requirements for both options are flexible enough to accommodate your educational and professional objectives.
The following is a general representation of the course work you are likely to complete as a crop and soil science student. In addition to this course work, you must complete OSU's general education requirements (Baccalaureate Core).
